Rules to Follow!

We want everyone to have the best time ever! Please help us make GlowJam a fun, safe, and welcoming event for everyone by following these simple rules.

GlowJam is peanut-free, fully accessible, and follows all Ontario safety guidelines for youth events. If your child has specific needs or accommodations, let us know in advance so we can help!

  1. Bag Check: Quick bag checks for everyone’s safety.
  2. All Are Welcome: Accessible, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Neutral bathrooms provided.
  3. Respect & Kindness: No bullying, fighting, or rough play. Treat everyone with respect.
  4. Listen to Volunteers: If staff ask you to stop something, please listen. Warnings, time-outs, or removal if needed.
  5. Kid-Friendly Fun: Dress and dance appropriately. No kissing or close dancing; keep it fun for all.
  6. No Outside Food/Drink: Snacks and drinks are for sale inside (except medical needs—just let us know!).
  7. Stay Until Pick-Up: No one leaves until a parent/guardian arrives. Parents welcome inside!
  8. Take Care of Your Things: We can’t be responsible for lost items—keep your belongings with you.
  9. Glowsticks: Don’t throw or break glowsticks.
  10. See Something? Tell a staff member right away if something feels unsafe.
  11. Zero Tolerance for Illegal Activity: Illegal activity means police involvement.
  12. Refunds for Cancellations: If we cancel, you get your ticket refunded.

Questions & Answers

Q: Can a parent bring me and my friends to the dance?

A: Yes! As long as everyone’s parent or guardian has given permission, it’s all good.

Q: Who can come to this awesome dance?

A: Any kid between 7 and 13 years old! If you’re in grade 8 and just turned 14, you’re still welcome.

Q: Can my parents come and watch?

A: Absolutely! Parents are welcome and get in free. If we’re really packed, they may be asked to hang out in a parent zone.

Q: Will there be adults watching over us?

A: Yes! Adult chaperones are at every event. For bigger dances, we may also have security for extra safety.

Q: How do I buy tickets?

A: Buy early online with a credit card, or bring cash to the door if tickets aren’t sold out. Grab yours before they’re gone!

Q: What time should I arrive?

A: Doors open at 6:45 PM. If you’re early, you’ll have to wait outside. Don’t forget your ticket!

Q: Is there a place for my coat?

A: There’s space to lay your jacket, but no coat check. Leave valuables at home if you can.

Q: Is the dance peanut-free?

A: Yes! We’re 100% peanut-free for everyone’s safety.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Comfortable, school-appropriate clothes. No need for fancy outfits—just come ready to dance!

Q: Can I bring my own snacks?

A: Sorry, no outside food or drinks allowed (unless for a medical need—just let us know in advance).

Q: What kind of music will be played?

A: We play clean, popular songs (radio edits only). Song requests are welcome at the DJ booth!

Q: Can I leave the dance early?

A: You can only leave if a parent or guardian picks you up inside. Safety first!

Q: What if I lose something?

A: Check the lost and found table before you leave. Items not picked up after two months will be donated.

Q: Will there be games or activities?

A: Yes! Besides dancing, we’ve got fun games and prizes to keep everyone entertained.

Q: Is there a first aid station?

A: Yes—staff are trained in first aid and can handle any minor injuries or emergencies.

Q: How can I (or my parent) volunteer?

A: We love volunteers! Talk to an organizer at the event or visit our website to sign up.
